Charles Scott is an aspiring multimedia journalist currently living in Dallas, TX. The Charlotte, NC native made his way to Southern Methodist University in August 2009, where he discovered a passion for honest, fair and accurate storytelling while working under SMU’s Belo Division of Journalism. Charles recently completed an internship at The Dallas Morning News, where he gained first hand experience reporting and writing breaking news briefs and feature news stories for one of the country’s most prestigious local newspapers. Charles’ work has also appeared in Dallas South News, Pegasus News DFW, and SMU’s award-winning newspaper, The Daily Campus.

Charles’ work also spans into the realm of entertainment management and public relations. Since September 2010, Charles has worked intimately with the the new indie-pop band Super Water Sympathy, most recently as the band’s Tour Manager on the road during 2012 VANS Warped Tour.

In December of 2013, Charles graduated from Southern Methodist University with a major in Journalism and a minor in Philosophy. During his time at SMU, Charles acquired skills such as reporting, interviewing, news writing, copy-editing using AP Style; capturing, shooting and editing audio and video, and the ability to interact with large audiences using Social Media devices like Facebook and Twitter.
